Botad Accident

Gujarat highways have yet again proven to be fatal as a pickup van met with an accident in Botad in the wee hours of Mar 15, claiming two lives and injuring 25. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to sources, the driver of the pickup van lost control of the vehicle near Botad’s Kumbhara village while travelling from Vinchhiya to Dhandhuka on the Jasdan-Ahmedabad highway. The van overturned, killing a father and daughter on the spot. The pickup van was reportedly mostly carrying labourers.

The accident led to traffic congestion on the highway. Several passersby assisted in the rescue operation as well.

The police also reached the spot and started further investigation into this brutal accident.

Recently, five passengers travelling in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) were killed and two were injured in an accident during the wee hours of Feb 27 on the Kheda-Dholka Highway of Gujarat.

Recently, in another tragic incident taking place on the roads of Ahmedabad, an individual lost his life after being hit by an SUV car near Sindhu Bhavan road in the wee hours of Mar 9.
