Five passengers killed, two injured in an accident on Kheda-Dholka highway

A total of five passengers, including a mother and child, were killed in the crash

In a surge in highway accidents in Gujarat for the past few days, five passengers travelling in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) were killed and two were injured in an accident during the wee hours today on the Kheda-Dholka Highway of Gujarat.

Around 4.30 a.m. today, a Bolero collided with a parked dumper near Pullen Circle on the Kheda-Dholka highway. A total of seven workers were onboard the SUV to reach Dhanpur for work. 

A total of five passengers, including a mother and child, were killed in the crash, and two were severely injured. 

The accident led to a traffic jam for a while. Locals rushed to help the victims, and the injured were shifted to Asarwa Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad after calling emergency services.

Currently, Dholka Town Police is taking further action on the incident. According to sources, the workers in the SUV were originally from Madhya Pradesh.

Days ago, two people were killed in an accident involving a chemical tanker that flipped and led to the fire, further setting three cars ablaze on the Valsad stretch of NH 48 near Vaghaldhara.
