Indian pole vaulter Baranica Elangovan won a historic bronze medal in the women’s pole vault at the Asian Games in Nagoya on Friday. The 29-year-old cleared 4.15m and finished tied with Kazakhstan’s Polina Ivanova. Japan’s Misaki Morota won gold with 4.55m, while China’s Chunge Niu took silver with 4.50m, marking India’s first medal in the event.
