On July 25, the civic body reportedly delivered 12,137 food packets across Shastrinagar, Shela, Sarkhej, Ambli, Shrinandnagar and Chandranagar, with distribution carried out in both morning and evening shifts.
Relief operations continued on July 26, when 2,000 snack packets were distributed in Vankarvas and Rawalvas in Bopal village, while another 2,750 food packets were supplied in Sabarmati, Gota, Bopal and Malav Talav areas.
Food distribution to continue until normalcy returns
AMC has reportedly said that food and snack packet distribution will continue through ward officials and field teams until the situation in all affected areas returns to normal.
Residents join relief efforts
Apart from the civic administration, residents of Albruz Society in Sarkhej have also joined the relief effort.
As per reports, society members have been preparing and distributing meals for flood-affected families over the past three days. The volunteers reportedly prepared 1,500 food packets on the first day, 2,020 on the second day, and 1,050 on the third day, taking the total number of meals distributed to more than 4,570.
The initiative is among several community-led efforts supporting official relief operations as Ahmedabad continues to recover from the recent spell of heavy rainfall.
