A pedestrian who sustained critical injuries after being struck by an Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) bus on the BRTS corridor in Ahmedabad's New Vadaj area has succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, police said on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Wednesday night when the AMTS bus allegedly hit the pedestrian on the dedicated BRTS corridor, leaving the victim critically injured.
The injured pedestrian was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment but later died due to the injuries sustained in the collision.
Following the victim's death, the B Traffic Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Police said they are examining the sequence of events, including the movement of the AMTS bus and the circumstances under which the pedestrian came onto the BRTS corridor. Further investigation is underway.
Officials said the exact cause of the accident will be determined based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
