In a post shared on X, Malwarebytes said the compromised data includes usernames, physical addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and other personal details.

The revelation has sparked alarm among social media users and cybersecurity experts, highlighting the growing threat of large-scale data breaches targeting popular platforms such as Instagram.

While details on how the data was accessed or whether it involved a direct breach of Instagram’s systems remain unclear, experts have warned users to remain vigilant, change passwords regularly and enable additional security measures such as two-factor authentication.

The incident adds to a series of recent cyberattacks targeting major digital platforms, underscoring the need for stronger safeguards and greater awareness among users to protect personal information online.
