Delhi-Hyderabad Passenger Stopped At Airport With Suspected Monkey Skull In Hand Baggage

A passenger travelling from Delhi to Hyderabad was stopped at Indira Gandhi International Airport after CISF personnel allegedly detected a skull concealed inside his hand baggage during pre-embarkation security screening.

CISF Detects Suspicious Object During Screening

The unusual discovery was made when alert CISF personnel noticed a suspicious object inside the passenger's cabin baggage.

The bag was subjected to further scrutiny, following which security personnel found what appeared to be a skull. When questioned, the passenger allegedly claimed that it was a monkey's skull.

Given the suspected wildlife connection, the CISF alerted the concerned authorities.

Passenger Handed Over To Police

The passenger was subsequently handed over to the local police for further legal action under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.

Authorities are expected to establish the exact nature and origin of the skull as part of the investigation. They will also determine whether its possession and transportation violated wildlife protection laws.

The incident took place during the airport's pre-embarkation security check, under which passengers and their cabin baggage are screened before they enter the secure boarding area.
