Over 16 lakh to appear for boards-GUJCET from Mar 11, state amps up preparations

GSEB GUJCET exam

This year, a total of 9.17 lakh students will appear for the Class 10 board exams, which will be held from Mar 11 to 22.

Meanwhile, 1.32 lakh students will appear for the Class 12 science stream exam, and 4.89 lakh students will appear for the Class 12 general stream exam.

In addition, 1.37 lakh students are set to appear for the GUJCET exam, scheduled to be conducted on Mar 31.

Class 10 exams will be held at 981 centres in 84 zones across the state, while the Class 12 science and general stream exams will be held at 653 centres in 56 zones.

The GUJCET exam will be held at 34 centres in 34 zones of the state on Mar 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Authoritative assistance for students

Students have been advised to take into account their travel time and their exam centre distance and leave accordingly. Traffic in metropolitan areas should also be considered by the students.

In case of any problem, students can be assisted by the police staff by dialling 100.

It is prohibited to carry mobile or other electronic gadgets to the examination centre or examination hall.

All board exam centres and buildings have been integrated with a widespread CCTV surveillance network.

The tracking of question papers from the zonal office to the examination centre and from the examination centre to the examination hall will be done through the PATA (Paper Box Authentication & Tracing Application) system.

In cases of malpractice in exams, the guilty shall be punished with imprisonment of at least 3 years and up to 5 years, or a fine of up to ₹2 lakh or both.
