As the Classes 10 and 12 board exams in Gujarat are set to take place on Mar 11, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has cautioned the students and guardians regarding the deceitful materials doing the rounds on social media.

The board has directed candidates to take precautions over the fake rumours and bogus viral exam papers.

They have claimed to have identified several individuals spreading fake news of a paper leak on YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram, among other social media sites.

The perpetrators claim to possess the official question paper and falsely assure that those questions will be asked in the board papers.

The board has also cautioned that such elements could also demand a hefty sum of money for their bogus question papers. It has been assured that police action will be taken against those associated with such practices.

Students and guardians could directly call the board control room or take such issues up to the district education officer’s (DEO) control room.

A total of 15.40 lakh students are set to appear for the board exams in both of the classes.

The board takes special vigilance over these exams every year to curb any illicit practices taking place.
