Officials summoned over mass cheating during board exam in Anand

In light of the serious mass cheating incidents that took place in board exams taken in centres at Anand, five officials were summoned for questioning at Gandhinagar on Mar 13.
The section examiner, section head, and office staff from Anand’s Karamsad were called to Gandhinagar for questioning by the education department, and their statements have been recorded.
Mass cheating incidents were recorded in the geography board exam for Class 12 held on Mar 12 at Karamsad and Tarapur in Anand.
Following this, exams were conducted under tight security at all the centres on Mar 13. Additionally, special squads from higher authorities were deployed by the education department.
According to Anand District Education Officer (DEO) Kamini Trivedi, “When we reached Sardar Patel Vidyamandir in Karamsad, someone was helping the students write the exam from outside. The person fled when we spotted them. The CCTV footage is also being examined. We have received the DVD, and further investigations will provide us with information about the person and how they reached the centre.”
