Main accused of Morbi bridge incident performs ‘tula daan’, sparks debate

In a three-day event hosted by the Kadwa Patidar and Kanya Kelvani Mandal Trust, the main accused in the Morbi incident, Jaysukh Patel, donated Modaks (a sweet offered to God) worth his weight, called ‘tula daan’.

According to reports, Patel, the Managing Director of the Oreva Group, and his family have been donors to various social causes for years.

However, it cannot be overlooked that Patel is the main accused in the tragic Morbi bridge collapse case, which is still under trial, and he has not yet been acquitted by the court. The collapse claimed the lives of 135 innocent people, including women and children on (date).

The incident of Patel being at the centre stage and sitting on the scale has sparked widespread controversy and debate, with many questioning the appropriateness of such recognition given the ongoing legal proceedings and the tragedy that occurred.
