Kutch girl commits suicide after principal threatens to fail her

A class 10 girl in Kutch allegedly died by suicide after the principal at her school threatened to fail her in exams on January 17.
Vishwa Bhimasar, a resident of Rapar, Kutch, and a Class 10 student in a government school, hanged herself to death on January 17.
Her family performed the funeral duties on the day, but later discovered a suicide note in her notebook.
In the note, she mentioned that her school principal had threatened to fail her in exams and had also insulted her in class.
Upon finding the suicide note, the family approached the police.
The police, in the presence of the Prant officer in the village, dug out the deceased’s body and sent it for a post-mortem examination in Jamnagar.
The police have also registered a complaint against the school principal and initiated an investigation into the case.
In a quite similar incident, in Gujarat a class 8 girl in Surat died by suicide on Monday evening by hanging herself from a fan as the school teachers allegedly torturing her for non-payment of fees.
The family, had alleged that the school was responsible for the suicide, stating that the girl had taken this drastic step due to the school teachers asking her to stand outside the class near the washroom due to non-payment of fees.
