Kutch: Daughter of traffic cop dies in accident

A 16-year-old student and daughter of traffic police died on July 9 after a truck hit her scooter at Yogeshwar Chowk in Anjar, Kutch.

According to reports, around 7.30 am on July 9, Rajviba Solanki, daughter of traffic police constable Vanrajsinh Solanki was on her way to school with her friend, Hasti Joshi, riding pillion on her. 

A truck hit the duo, killing Solanki on the scene. Joshi was also injured and rushed to a hospital.

Anjar Mamlatdar, Anjar police, Adipur, Gandhidham, and B Division police, as well as the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Special Operation Group (SOG), rushed to the scene. 

The authorities including Anjar Mamlatdar, police teams, local crime branch, and special operation group rushed to the scene and tried to pacify the infuriated locals who had stopped the truck, causing a traffic jam.

Anjar’s Kalash Circle and Yogeshwar Chowk are highly infamous for accidents involving heavy vehicles.

Former Collector Pravina D K had filed a petition before various organisations regarding this matter and heavy vehicles were banned from entering the city on Jan 15, 2019. Anjar PI and SDM also filed applications, but no actions were taken against the rule-breakers.
