Every vote counts Chhotaudepur SP candidate wins by one vote

A candidate in Chohoteaudepur local body election won by just a single vote. In Ward No 5 of the Chhotaudepur Municipality, Samajwadi Party candidate Mufis Sheikh secured victory by just one vote. 

Elections were held for 28 seats across 7 wards of the Chhotaudepur Municipality. Among these, the BJP won 8 seats, the Samajwadi Party secured 6 seats, the BSP won 4 seats, Congress managed to win only 1 seat, and other parties secured 9 seats.

Congress wiped out  

In the local self-government elections, the dominance of the BJP remained intact, and Congress faced a complete wipeout. Out of the 68 municipal elections held in the state, the BJP secured victory in 62 municipalities, while Congress managed to win only 1 seat. 

Moreover, the Samajwadi Party played the role of a kingmaker in two seats. Furthermore, independent candidates maintained their stronghold in 2 seats. In Dakor Municipality, there was a tie between the BJP and an independent candidate.

BJP declared unopposed winner  

Notably, elections were held in only 66 out of the 68 municipalities in Gujarat, as BJP candidates were declared unopposed winners in two municipalities.
