Amidst the amped-up preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP’s vice president of the National Mahila Morcha, Dr Jyoti Pandya, has been suspended from the party.
Dr Pandya has been suspended from all party posts and primary membership for six years on the instructions of the party’s central as well as state leadership, spearheaded by president CR Paatil.
No reason behind this move has been clarified as of now.
It is noteworthy that Dr Pandya has repeatedly expressed her dissatisfaction over giving Ranjan Bhatt a third ticket for Lok Sabha from the Vadodara seat.
In this regard, she said, “Many party workers are unhappy with Ranjan Bhatt. The development of Vadodara has been stalled during her tenure. I don't know what compulsion the party is currently in to give her a ticket for the third time.”
Bhatt, a Vadodara sitting MP, has been embroiled in several controversies. She was renominated by the party’s central leadership on Mar 13.
