BJP vs BJP: Arvind Ladani alleges Jawahar Chavda of corruption in Manavadar APMC
Former Cabinet Minister Jawahar Chavda has been facing mounting criticism from Arvind Ladani, the MLA from Manavadar, who has accused Chavda of widespread corruption at the Manavadar Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC). Ladani has formally requested an investigation from Cooperation minister Jagdish Panchal regarding these allegations.
While Chavda has been publicly attacking the BJP with a series of letters over BJP office in Junagadh and Kirit Patel holding multiple chairs, Ladani has intensified his campaign against him. He claims that under Chavda’s oversight, significant corruption has occurred at the market yard.
The Junagadh District BJP office was alleged by Chavda to have violated several regulations, including land use violations, margin violations, and non-compliance with the conditions of the non-agricultural approval order. The office was constructed on land designated for residential use without the necessary approvals and did not maintain the required distance from the highway's centerline. Additionally, it failed to adhere to the required open space around the plot.
Ladani pointed out that although there is no building for the market yard, a watchman has been hired, and despite the lack of vehicles, drivers have been employed. He noted that a loan of ₹1.5 crore was taken from a bank for the construction of the market yard building, and the bank is owed ₹4.5 crore today. Furthermore, it has been over a year, and the employees of the yard have not received their salaries, alleged Ladani.
Notably, Jawahar Chavda has written to the PM over Kirit Patel holding multiple important positions, violating the party rules, and the rules violated by the Junagadh BJP office’s construction.
