Seven years later, Jawahar Chavda brings Junagadh BJP office violations to fore
The district BJP office in Junagadh faces allegations of violating several regulations. Two days ago, former Congress MLA Jawahar Chavda, who has now joined the BJP, wrote to the Prime Minister regarding the matter.
Chavda has claimed that the land used for the office was designated for residential purposes and was constructed without the necessary approvals and without maintaining the required margins.
Specifically, the construction did not leave the mandated 24 meters distance from the highway’s centerline as per the approved plan.
Seven years ago, when Chavda was a Congress MLA, he reported this matter, but no action was taken. The district BJP office is built on non-agricultural land at Survey No. 90/P-1 and 90/P-1/P-1 near Khamdhrol Chokdi.
Chavda had requested the cancellation of the non-agricultural approval due to these violations on July 4, 2017. In his complaint to the collector, he stated that most conditions of the non-agricultural order issued on April 16, 2014, were being violated.
Despite this land being designated for residential use, the BJP office, named “Din Dayal Bhavan,” was constructed without obtaining approval, which is a violation of the conditions.
According to the layout plan, there should have been open space left around the plot, but margins were not maintained, which again violates the non-agricultural order.
The original condition for approving the plan required that construction be at least 24 meters away from the centerline of National Highway-8.
The necessary approval for construction beyond this 24-meter requirement was never obtained, according to Chavda’s complaint.
