Three Gujarat-origin women killed in US in road accident

A tragic accident in the USA reportedly claimed the lives of three Gujarat-origin women on Apr 26 in Greenville County, South Carolina.

The deceased are identified as Rekha Patel, Sangita Patel, and Manisha Patel who reportedly hail Gujarat’s Anand district.

Four women were travelling from Atlanta to South Carolina when they met with an unfortunate accident on I-85, according to media reports.

The accident may have been caused due to overspeeding, said the authorities, local news reports suggested.

Though it was not revealed what caused the crash, the car was reported to have run up an embankment and rose as much as 20 feet in the air before crashing into some trees on the other side.

One survivor has been shifted to the hospital, while the other three were declared dead.
