‘If you cross illegally, you will be removed,’ US releases video of handcuffed, chained Indians
A C-17 Globemaster military aircraft landed on Indian soil on Wednesday with 104 deportees hailing Gujarat, Haryana, and Punjab who tried to cross US borders illegally.
Indians were shackled in chains and with handcuffs during their journey to India.
“If you cross illegally, you will be removed,” threatened USBP Chief Michael W Banks sharing the visuals of Indians being deported to India.
Out of 104 deportees, 33 each are from Haryana and Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, three each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh.
During a Rajya Sabha session on Thursday Opposition members of the parliament in Rajya Sabha protested over the inhumane treatment of the deported Indians.

A sharp rise occurred in 2016 (1,303), followed by fluctuating yet elevated numbers until 2019.
