Ketan Agarwal murder case: Fiancee Siya Goyal and lover Chetan Chaudhary questioned together by Pune police

The investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal has intensified. Pune police officials conducted a joint interrogation of the prime accused Agarwal's fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary questioning them face-to-face late into the night. Both suspects are currently in a seven-day police custody remand.

What was initially suspected to be an accidental death is now being treated as a planned murder allegedly masterminded by Goyal and Chaudhary.

New detentions and timeline of the crime

Investigators have widened their net, detaining Neeraj Kumar, an employee at Chaudhary’s shop who has worked with him for three years.

According to police sources:
The Key Evidence: Chaudhary allegedly took Kumar's mobile phone to Lohagad Fort on June 18, the day the crime was committed.
The Suspected Use: Investigators believe Chaudhary used Kumar's phone to maintain frequent contact with Goyal throughout the day.

Families clash over allegations

As the investigation unfolds, the families of both the accused and the victim have come forward with conflicting statements:
Chaudhary’s family claims innocence:
Chaudhary’s father, Babulal Chaudhary, a local grocery shop owner, strongly defended his son, claiming he was "falsely framed" by Goyal. "We have never seen the girl in question and know absolutely nothing about her… I saw her for the first time at the police station," he told reporters. A relative, Udaram Chaudhary, echoed this sentiment, stating they only learned of Goyal through media reports.

Victim’s father demands severe punishment:
In contrast, the victim's father, Vishal Agarwal, expressed full confidence in the legal system. "I have complete faith in the justice system… whoever is involved in this, Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary and others, they should be punished severely and as soon as possible," he stated.

From wedding preparations to conspiracy
Ketan Agarwal, the son of a prominent Maharashtra businessman, got engaged to Siya Goyal in February. The families were actively planning a lavish November wedding featuring palace venues and private jets.

The Alleged Motive: Police allege that while wedding preparations were underway, Goyal was secretly involved in a romantic relationship with Chaudhary, whom she met at a business event in 2025. Goyal ran a bakery business, while Chaudhary worked in the dry fruit trade.
Investigators believe Chaudhary viewed Agarwal as an obstacle to his relationship with Goyal, prompting the duo to allegedly conspire to eliminate him.
