Updated: Mar 12th, 2024
It has been five days since the suicide case of Dr Vaishali Joshi, and her family members have not yet reached out to the police to file a complaint against police inspector BK Khachar.
The police, however, have initiated the investigation.
In the ongoing investigation, the police sent Joshi’s suicide note, injection box (self-administering, which she succumbed to death), needle, diary, and other things that belonged to her to the forensic science laboratory (FSL).
As the family members did not show up to file the complaint, even after the intimation of the police, a team is likely to reach Joshi’s residence to file the statements of her family members.
The last rites and other rituals conclude at Dr Vaishali Joshi’s residence, her family members were likely to visit Ahmedabad and file a complaint against police inspector (PI) BK Khachar. However, no one has showed up yet.
Joshi’s suicide note will also be matched with other texts and notes that she wrote.
In the preliminary investigation, the police found that Joshi and Khachar contacted each other in 2020.
According to reports, they were connected via social media and later, met each other occasionally.
Joshi’s mobile, tablet and other gadgets are seized by the police.
In a shocking revelation, many officers of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) were privy to the relationship of Khachar and Joshi.
Notably, Khachar is on the run and has taken leave from work for his wife who is allegedly ill, according to media reports.
The married cop was named in the deceased’s suicide note on Mar 6. Joshi had been mentally depressed for the past few days before her death as Khachar avoided meeting her.
In a statement, Joshi’s roommate said that Joshi often talked about her relationship and that they were together for a long time, and often went out to meet him.
