The police have arrested three persons in connection with the brutal murder of a man in Rajivnagar under the jurisdiction of Anandnagar Police, while a fourth accused is absconding.

The arrests were made jointly by the Anandnagar police and the Zone 7 Local Crime Branch with assistance from the Banaskantha local police. The accused were apprehended from Dantiwada in Banaskantha district.

Police identified the arrested accused as Hasmukh Vaghela, Kanti alias Kanu alias Leli Vana, and Bhavesh Parmar. A fourth accused, Ketan Galchot, is currently on the run, and efforts are under way to trace him.

According to the police, the murder stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute involving the deceased’s family. Investigators said the deceased, Natu Parmar, had been embroiled in repeated conflicts with the accused over marital discord between his son Kaushik Parmar and daughter-in-law Malavika.

Police said Malavika had married Kaushik, but the couple’s relationship had been strained for some time. During the course of the marriage, Malavika allegedly suffered a miscarriage, which became another source of dispute between the families.

Officials stated that Hasmukh Vaghela, who is related to Malavika, had also clashed with Natu Parmar over the matter on several occasions.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly attacked Natu Parmar with sticks and pipes during one such confrontation, inflicting fatal injuries.

Following the murder, the accused fled to Banaskantha and were allegedly planning to escape to Rajasthan. Police said the suspects had been halting at temples during their journey in an apparent attempt to avoid detection.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivam Verma, Zone 7, said police teams are continuing efforts to apprehend the absconding accused and further investigation is under way.
