Surat teacher, arrested for eloping with student, pregnant

The teacher in custody for allegedly ‘eloping’ with a minor student was found to be five-months pregnant during her medical check-up.
During the medical examination of both Mansi Nayi (23) and her student (13), it was revealed that the student impregnated her before five months.
In the interrogation Mansi Nayi (23) revealed that she was in a physical relationship with her student (13) for a year when she used to take personal tuitions for the student.
The police remanded Nayi for one more day for further investigation.
Surat's Puna police caught up with the “couple” at the Gujarat-Rajasthan border on Wednesday, bringing to close a four-day manhunt.
The police said that the duo decided to “elope” after they faced opposition from their families. Nayi bought two bags in preparation for their flight. The child gave her his clothes and other travel necessities a day prior. She packed their bags, and met up with him at the VR Mall in Surat. From there, CCTV footage shows that they travelled to the Surat railway station area.
The duo took a bus to Vadodara, went on to Ahmedabad—where they spent time at Kankaria lake—before taking a train the next afternoon to Jaipur.
They then travelled to Delhi and Vrindavan and later returned to Jaipur, where they stayed overnight at a hotel.
They had been on their way back to Ahmedabad, via private bus, when the police caught up with them near Ratanpur.
