On the night of March 21, a speeding car driven by a police constable collided with a family of four riding on a motorcycle. The victims, identified as Ronak Shah, his wife Rishita, and their two sons, Krut aged 2, and Prat aged 8, were seriously injured in the accident.

The youngest one, Krut, suffered injuries on his face and legs, and the four of them were taken to the SVP Hospital.

The car was driven by constable Vijay Aniyalia, seriously injuring the four.

After the accident, Aniyalia sped off instead of stopping the car, putting more lives in danger. However, the car came to a halt with a burst tyre, and the constable came out, who was then reportedly beaten by a crowd.

Aniyalia fled the scene but was later arrested by the M Division Traffic Police in Vasna.

Locals on the scene alleged that Aniyalia was driving under the influence.

However, Aniyalia was released on bail without a medical check-up. The police stated that since no complaint was registered against him, the medical checkup was not conducted.
