Mini-bus rams into dumper near Surendranagar, five from West Bengal die
Amid the surge in road accidents in Gujarat, five people lost their lives in an accident involving a mini-passenger bus which rammed into a dumper truck on the Sayla-Limbdi Highway near Surendranagar on Sunday.
The mini-bus carrying over 10 passengers from West Bengal was returning from the Saurashtra tour. On their way to Ahmedabad, the bus rammed behind a dumper on the highway.
A total of five passengers of the mini bus including two women and three men died on the spot.
EMRI emergency service was informed and ambulances from Sayla, Doliya, Vadod, and surrounding areas reached the spot. The injured were taken to nearby government hospitals while some were referred to Surendranagar for further treatment due to the severity of their wounds.
The deceased were taken to Limbdi Government Hospital.
The incident caused a traffic jam on the highway. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
