Mercedes-Benz stolen from Vastrapur parking lot

A Mercedes-Benz car worth an estimated ₹9 lakh was allegedly stolen from a public parking area near Mansi Crossroads in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur area, police said on Wednesday.
According to Vastrapur Police Station, the theft took place between the evening of May 9 and the morning of May 11 from a parking lot located behind Kornak Tower near Nalanda Complex.
The complainant, Prashant Vishwanath Nair, 41, a businessman residing near Mansi Crossroads in Vastrapur, stated that the stolen vehicle was a brown-coloured Mercedes-Benz E-250 CDI, model year 2010.
In his complaint, Nair told the police that he runs a real estate business under the name S R Group at Bodakdev in Ahmedabad. He said the car, registered in the name of his father’s friend Chelan Abdul Aziz, was being used by him regularly.
Nair’s driver, Krunal Leuwa, had parked the vehicle in the public parking lot around 7 pm on May 9 after locking it properly. However, when the driver returned around 8 am on May 11 to retrieve the car, it was missing.
The complainant stated that despite searching the surrounding area, neither he nor the driver could trace the vehicle, following which they suspected that an unidentified thief had stolen it.
Police said that the estimated value of the vehicle has been put at approximately ₹9 lakh.
An offence of vehicle theft has been registered against an unknown person, and further investigation has been initiated by the Vastrapur police.
