Massive fire at Sanand company, allegations against fire department spark controversy

A major fire broke out at a private company in Moraiya village near Sanand in Ahmedabad rural district on Saturday, triggering panic in the area and drawing serious allegations against the fire department over its response to the emergency.
According to local sources, the blaze erupted suddenly at Shubh Marketing Company located in the industrial area of Moraiya. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the premises as flames rapidly spread through parts of the unit, prompting nearby residents and workers to rush to the spot.
Fire department officials were informed immediately after the incident.
The allegations led to anger among local residents, who accused the authorities of delaying emergency response during a critical situation.
Sources at the scene further claimed that despite the intensity of the fire, adequate support and timely assistance were not provided by the fire department, allowing the blaze to escalate further.
Several people gathered outside the factory premises as firefighters continued efforts to bring the situation under control. No casualties had been officially reported at the time of filing this report, though the extent of property damage was yet to be assessed.
Officials have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the allegations levelled against the fire department.
