Man stabbed to death in Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur after dispute over PG accommodation

A 25-year-old private employee was allegedly stabbed to death by his colleague following a dispute over storing belongings in a paying guest accommodation in Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur area on Wednesday morning.

According to preliminary information from Vejalpur Police Station, the deceased was identified as Hiren Menshibhai Solanki, a resident of Satyanarayan Society in Jivrajpark.

Police said Hiren was employed at an Apple Store and had reportedly been involved in a minor argument earlier with the accused over keeping belongings inside a cupboard at their PG accommodation.

The accused has been identified as Mahavirsinh Mahobatsinh Jadav, 23, also employed at an Apple Store. He is originally from Mojidad village in Surendranagar district and presently associated with Tatam village in Botad district, police said.

Investigators said the accused had come to collect his belongings on Wednesday morning when another argument allegedly broke out. During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked Hiren with a knife, inflicting injuries to his abdomen.

Hiren was rushed to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead around 9.35 am on Wednesday.

Police officials said further investigation into the incident is under way and legal action is being initiated against the accused.
