Man found murdered near Chandkheda, police probe alleged love affair angle

A 34-year-old woman has alleged that her husband was murdered near Zundal in Chandkheda following an alleged extramarital relationship and repeated threats linked to blackmail over money, police said on Wednesday.
According to Chandkheda Police Station, unidentified persons allegedly attacked the victim with sharp weapons sometime between 7 pm on May 12 and 7.34 am on May 13, inflicting multiple fatal injuries on his body.
The deceased was identified as Jasmatsingh alias Piklusingh Chhotusingh Sikhligar, a resident of Pethapur in Gandhinagar district.
Police said the complaint was filed by the victim’s wife, Ajitkaur Jasmatsingh Sikhligar, who told investigators that her husband had left home on his motorcycle on the evening of May 12 and did not return.
According to the complaint, she repeatedly attempted to contact her husband the following morning before receiving a phone call from a police official informing her that her husband had been assaulted. She was later asked to come to the police station, where she was informed that he had been murdered.
The complainant, accompanied by family members, was subsequently taken to a dirt road near the compound wall of a cement products factory close to Sarvottam Hotel in Zundal, where the body was found lying in a pool of blood.
Police said the deceased had sustained grievous injuries on the chest, back, left-hand finger, right thumb and left armpit, allegedly caused by sharp-edged weapons.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that a woman identified as Deepkir Sunny Singh Sikhligar had allegedly been in a relationship with her husband for the past four to five years and had allegedly been blackmailing him for money.
She further alleged that the woman had repeatedly threatened to have her husband killed through relatives, including persons identified as Surjit alias Teto Kabusing Tank and Mansingh alias Badalsingh Tank.
The complainant also told police that her husband’s motorcycle was later found parked outside the residence of the woman.
Police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons and said further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact motive and involvement of the individuals named in the complaint.
