LS polls 2024: BJP, Congress candidates start filing nominations

26 Lok Sabha seats in the state await Lok Sabha and bye election polls scheduled for May 7. As the general elections in the country are just three days away, the candidates from the two major parties in Gujarat are filling out the nomination forms.

While two BJP candidates, including Parshottam Rupala and Dr Hemang Joshi, have filled out nomination forms today, many Congress leaders are also set to fill out the forms across Gujarat.

Congress’ Bharat Makwana from Ahmedabad West, Nitesh Lalan from Kutch, Dr Tushar Chaudhary from Sabarkantha, Sonal Patel from Gandhinagar, Jenny Thummar from Amreli, Gulabsinh Chauhan from Panchmahal, Anant Patel from Valsad, and Lalit Vasoya from Porbandar are prepared to file their nomination forms today.

Meanwhile, six BJP leaders and three Congress leaders filled out nomination forms on Apr 15.

Valsad - Dhaval Patel

Bharuch - Mansukh Vasava

Surendranagar - Chandu Shihora

Congress candidates

Banaskantha - Geni Thakor

Surendranagar - Rutvik Makwana

Jamnagar - JP Maraviya 

Bardoli - Siddharth Chaudhary

Moreover, in the bye election seat of Gujarat, Dharmendrasinh Vaghela filled out the form from the Waghodia seat, and Arjun Modhwadia filled out the form from Porbandar.
