Ahmedabad East constituency’s Hasmukh Patel fills out nomination form

As the countdown for Lok Sabha elections begins, nomination form filling has started across Ahmedabad West, East, and Gandhinagar.

While the Ahmedabad East constituency’s candidate Hasmukh Patel has filled out the nomination form, no nomination form has been submitted for the Ahmedabad West constituency yet.

Assets owned by Hasmukh Patel

As disclosed by textile engineer-turned-politician Patel in his nomination form, his wife and he own total assets worth ₹8.64 crore.

According to affidavits submitted by Patel, they own cash, bank savings, and jewellery assets worth ₹1,92,33,745.

It includes ₹89.15 lakh worth of deposits, ₹29.10 lakh worth of share funds, and ₹68.65 lakh amount receivable from loans granted. They acquire ₹4.76 lakh of 80 grams of gold.

Patel owns a total of ₹2,52,38,816 worth of immovable assets, including agricultural land in Mehsana and a 25% share of non-agricultural land in Mehsana. Apart from this, he owns a residential house worth ₹96 lakh.

Patel’s wife owns assets worth ₹21,55,822, including ₹1.28 cr of deposits, ₹50,000 worth of share funds, and a receivable amount from a loan.

She also owns 380 grams of gold worth ₹22.61 lakh and a residential property worth ₹59 lakh.

Patel has disclosed ₹1.50 lakh of deposits and over ₹90 lakh of amounts receivable from granted loans.

According to the income tax return filed by Patel in 2022–23, her wife’s and his HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) income include ₹9.85 lakh and ₹11.50 lakh, respectively.

Liabilities

Patel has shown loans worth ₹11.75 lakh in his name, ₹1.08 crore in his wife’s name, and ₹14.43 lakh in his HUF account. However, Patel does not own any cars or vehicles.
