BJP’s Parshottam Rupala files for Lok Sabha Election from Rajkot amid controversy

Parshottam Rupala, the Lok Sabha candidate from Rajkot who has been in the headlines for days now, finally filled the form with all the pomp in Rajkot.

Ahead of filling out the form, in his public speech, Rupala said, “I am kindly requesting the Kshatriya community to extend their support for the BJP with a big heart for the national interest.”

Rupala began the rally by performing worship at the Jagannath Temple on Yagnik Road today.

Former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, former governor of Karnataka Vaju Vala, and party officials, including the BJP’'s deputy president Bharat Boghra, were present at the rally.

A large, saffron-clad crowd and party workers participated in the rally.

After facing a long backlash from the Kshatriya community regarding his remarks on erstwhile maharajas, the veteran politician has finally filled out the nomination form.

However, the Kshatriya had given Rupala an ultimatum till Apr 19 to withdraw his form.

Notably, the Congress has positioned Patidar stalwart and former leader of the opposition Paresh Dhanani against Rupala for the Rajkot Lok Sabha seat. Recently, social media has been abuzz with Dhanani’s poems criticising Rupala and the BJP.
