Gujarat Taluka Panchayat poll results: State continues to be fort for BJP

Vote counting has begun for Gujarat’s local self-government polls, with initial results trickling in from various civic bodies across the state.

Elections were held for 260 taluka panchayats. Polling took place on April 26.

District panchayats and taluka panchayats had registered around 61% turnout.

According to the State Election Commission, a total of 732 candidates were elected unopposed ahead of the polls. This includes 252 such candidates in taluka panchayats.

So far, BJP has gained almost 3/4th number of seats i.e. 3524, while INC has managed to gain 999 seats.

> In Junagadh district, the AAP came to power in Visavdar and Bhesan taluka panchayats, while the Junagadh taluka panchayat saw a tie, and the BJP dominated the remaining talukas.

> In Visavdar taluka (18 seats): AAP won 11 seats, BJP 6, Independent 1, while the INC failed to win any seat.

> In Vanthali taluka (16 seats): BJP secured 11 seats, while AAP won 5 and Congress none.

> In Mendarda taluka (16 seats): BJP won 10 seats, Congress 5, and AAP 1.

> In Manavadar taluka (16 seats): BJP secured 12 seats, AAP 4, while Congress did not win any seat.

BJP has secured 2789 seats out of 5234 Taluka panchayat seats, while INC has claimed 803 seats. 

Tie in Chhota Udepur and Kadwala Taluka Panchayat seats

> In Pavi Jetpur Taluka Panchayat of Chhota Udepur district, the BJP won 15 of 18 seats, while the INC secured two seats and the AAP won two seats.

> In Chhota Udepur Taluka Panchayat, the BJP and the AAP won 13 seats each out of 26, resulting in a tie.

> In Sankheda Taluka Panchayat, the BJP secured 16 of 18 seats, while the Congress won two seats.

> In Bodeli Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 19 of 24 seats, while the Congress secured two seats, the AAP won one seat, and two seats went to Independents.

> In Kadwal Taluka Panchayat, the BJP and the AAP won eight seats each out of 16, resulting in a tie.

> In Naswadi Taluka Panchayat, the BJP secured 13 of 22 seats, while the Congress won two seats and the AAP secured seven seats.

Khedbrahma, Prantij and Talod Taluka Panchayat Results

> In Khedbrahma Taluka Panchayat of Sabarkantha district, the BJP won 12 of 20 seats, while the INC and the AAP secured four seats each.

> In Prantij Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 14 of 20 seats, the Congress secured four seats, and Independent candidates won two seats.

> In Talod Taluka Panchayat, the BJP secured 17 of 20 seats, while the Congress won three seats.

Chhota Udepur

> In Chhota Udepur district Taluka Panchayat, the AAP won 15 of 26 seats, while the BJP secured 11 seats.

Amreli Takula Results Declared

> In Amreli Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 16 of 18 seats, while the AAP and the INC secured one seat each.

> In Babra Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 13 of 18 seats, the AAP secured three seats, and the Congress won one seat.

> In Bagasra Taluka Panchayat, the AAP won 10 of 16 seats, while the BJP secured six seats.

> In Dhari Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won nine of 16 seats, the AAP secured five, and the Congress won two seats.

> In Jafrabad Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 14 of 16 seats, while the Congress secured two seats.

BJP is rising steadfast by securing at least 2554 seats, while INC has also risen steadily by claiming 652 seats out of 5234 Takula Panchayat seats. 

> In Amreli Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 16 of 18 seats, while the INC and the AAP secured 1 seat each.

> In Bagasara Taluka Panchayat, the AAP emerged ahead with 10 of 16 seats, while the BJP won 6 seats.

> In Khambha Taluka Panchayat, the BJP secured 12 of 16 seats, while the Congress won 1 and the AAP took 3 seats.

> In Liliya Taluka Panchayat, the Congress won nine of 16 seats, while the BJP secured 7.

BJP wins in Jasdan and Vichhiya Taluka Panchayats

BJP has secured a dominant victory in the Jasdan Taluka Panchayat, winning 15 of the 22 seats. AAP opened its account in the taluka by winning six seats, while the INC managed to secure one seat.

In the neighbouring Vichhiya Taluka Panchayat, the BJP won 14 of the 18 seats, while the Congress secured the remaining four seats.

BJP is rapidly rising by claiming 1529 seats, while INC has claimed 395 seats. 

BJP wins in Bavla Taluka Panchayat

Out of the total 18 seats in Bavla Taluka Panchayat, 15 seats went to the BJP, two seats to the Congress and one seat to the Independent.

BJP wins big in Una seat of Gir Somnath

BJP has won the Una Taluk Panchayat seat of Gir Somnath. Out of the total 26 seats, 20 went to BJP and 6 to Congress.

Tie between BJP-AAP in Junagadh Taluka Panchayat

A closely fought contest between BJP and AAP has resulted in a hung outcome in the Taluka Panchayat elections, with both parties securing 9 seats each.

With no clear majority in the 18-seat body, the result has led to uncertainty over the formation of power, with attention now turning to possible political manoeuvring and emerging alliances.

BJP wins in Sathamba Taluka Panchayat

BJP has emerged as the dominant force in the Sathamba Taluka Panchayat, securing 9seats, while Congress won six seats and 1 seat went to an Independent candidate.

The BJP registered victories in Choila, Untarda, Radodara, Demai, Indran, Malpur and Ubharan, while the Congress won in Helodar and Sathamba.

BJP is dominating the Taluka panchayat with claiming 1028 seats, while, INC is also rising rapidly with now claiming 228 seats. 

Folk writer Maya Ahir's daughter defeated

INC candidate Shantiben Der has won the Chavand seat of the Lathi taluka panchayat, defeating BJP candidate Sonalben Der. Notably, Sonalben is the daughter of noted folk writer Mayabhai Ahir.

BJP's defeat in Maya Ahir's village, Congress wins

INC candidate Zaver Bhalia has won the Borda seat of the Talaja taluka panchayat by a margin of 367 votes. Notably, Borda is the native village of folk writer Maya Ahir.

INC goes empty hand in Valsad Taluka Panchayat

BJP has won 31 seats out of a total of 32 seats, while one seat has gone to an independent. Congress could not even secure one seat in Valsad Taluka Panchayat.

AAP wins in Arjun Modhwadia's village

AAP has secured a notable victory in the home village of Cabinet Minister Arjun Modhwadia, with its candidate Shantiben Modhwadia winning the Modhwada seat of the Porbandar Taluka Panchayat. 

Defeat of folk writer Maya Bhai Ahir's daughter

INC candidate Shantiben Der has won the Chavand seat of the Lathi taluka panchayat, defeating BJP candidate Sonalben Der. Notably, Sonalben is the daughter of noted folk writer Maya Bhai Ahir.

Bharuch: Congress candidate wins by one vote

Congress candidate Mohsin Pathan has won on the Palej Taluka Panchayat seat of Bharuch by a margin of one vote.

12 pm update

Although BJP is still on the lead, but now claiming 795 seats, while Congress is steadily rising with claiming 159 seats. 

BJP wins Vadiya seat in Banaskantha district

BJP registered multiple victories in the Vadiya taluka panchayat, winning several seats including Bambhaniya (Aartiben Gajera), Moti Kukawav (Nehaben Gondaliya), Moti Kunkawav-2 (Niraliben Saniya), Amrapur (Manoj Hapani), Tori (Sonalben Pansuriya) and Mota Ujla (Hansaben Sakhwala).

AAP wins in Chhota Udepur 

BJP candidate Narpatbhai Manilal Rathwa has won the Malu seat of the taluka panchayat by 1,450 votes.

Furthermore, BJP candidate Vishnubhai Kawa Rathwa won the Bhensawahi seat of the taluka panchayat in Pavi Jetpur by a margin of 1,487 votes.

AAP candidate Mahendra Rathwa secured victory from the Vankala taluka panchayat seat by 1,806 votes. 

Independent candidate wins from Khera taluka panchayat seat

Independent candidate Ramjibhai Gujriya won the Khera taluka panchayat seat.

Meanwhile, BJP secured multiple victories in taluka panchayat seats, with Haniben Wagh winning from Old Barpatoli, Hetalben Kamaliya clinching the Barbatana seat by 400 votes, and Hansaben Gujriya emerging victorious from Chanch village.

Congress wins, BJP loses in Maya Ahir's village

INC candidate Zaver Bhalia has won the Borda seat of Talaja taluka panchayat by a margin of 367 votes. Notably, Borda is the native village of noted folk writer Maya Ahir.

So far, BJP is still on the lead, gaining 1200 seats, while INC has claimed 95 seats out of a total of 5234 seat.

AAP wins three taluka panchayats seats of Surat district

AAP has won the Satwan, Dhanawad and Umgargot taluka panchayat seats in Surat district.

AAP wins Moti Ghansari Taluka Panchayat seat in Keshod after tie decided by toss

A tie in the Keshod Taluka Panchayat of Junagadh led to an unusual outcome in Moti Ghansari, where candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party secured an equal number of votes. The result was ultimately decided by a draw, with AAP candidate Yashwant Singh Raizada declared the winner.

In taluka panchayats, the BJP has so far gained 400 seats, while the INC has claimed 52 seats out of a total of 5,234 seats.

Congress candidate Dipaliben Avinash Kumar Chavda has won the Meda Adraj Taluka Panchayat seat of Kadi Taluka of Mehsana district by 168 votes.

AAP candidate wins in Bagasara seat 

AAP candidate Dafubhai Gajipara has won in Bagasara Taluka panchayat seat of Amreli district and AAP candidate Ranjanben Laxmanbhai Solanki has won from Hamapur seat by 328 votes. While, BJP candidate Bharatkumar Gajera has won in Lathi Taluka Panchayat.

AAP candidate wins Bagaliya seat

In the Bagaliya taluka panchayat seat of Naswadi taluka, AAP candidate Savitaben Bhil has won.

AAP wins Charadava seat in Halvad

In Morbi district’s Halvad taluka panchayat, AAP candidate Chandu Mori has won the Charadava seat by a margin of over 1,400 votes.

BJP wins Bangapur seat in Chhotaudepur

In Chhotaudepur district, BJP candidate Shilpaben has won the Bangapur taluka panchayat seat by 1,016 votes.

Barwala results (Botad District)

Results have been declared for various seats in the Barwala taluka panchayat of Botad district. According to the results announced so far, BJP has won two seats, while one seat has gone to Congress.

BJP candidate Chirag Galiyel secured a decisive victory from the Chokdi seat.

BJP candidate Sanjay Nandoliya has won from the Bela seat.

Congress candidate Arunaben Mehulbhai Mer has won from the Kapadiyali seat.

As of 9 am, across a total of 260 talukas in the state, the BJP has managed to claim 252 seats. A total of 5,234 seats were contested in the taluka panchayat elections.
