Jharkhand man held in Gujarat for assaulting minor

A man hailing from Jharkhand was nabbed by the Bharuch police just hours after he sexually assaulted a minor girl.    

According to the police, the accused had kidnapped 10-year-old  girl from her residence on Monday evening. He sexually assaulted her, later releasing her..

On Monday night, the victim managed to call for help, and was found by her mother.

As per the reports, the girl was taken to a hospital in Bharuch but was later moved to SSG Hospital in Vadodara.

The police deployed different teams to nab the accused and in the early hours of Tuesday the accused was apprehended.

Police have registered a complaint under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and are investigating the case.

Recently a man was arrested by the police in connection with the rape and murder of a woman in Gujarat's Valsad district, a police official said.

The accused was identified through CCTV footage accessed by the police.
