Jhagadia assault victim remains critical after two surgeries

The victim of the sexual assault in Bharuch’s Jaghadia remains in critical condition. Even after undergoing two surgeries, she is yet to regain consciousness.
A 10-year-old was sexually assaulted by a neighbour, Vijay Paswan of Jharkhand, who later confessed to inserting a foreign object into her. It has also been revealed that he injured her face and stomach.
During the diagnosis, it was discovered that a surgical stitch in her abdomen had opened up, leading to an infection.
Consequently, the girl underwent another surgery in the pediatric department of SSG Hospital on Wednesday. This surgery lasted two and a half hours.
The investigation earlier revealed that the accused had assaulted the minor earlier, too, but the family had not filed a complaint against him.
Mayur Chavda, ACP (Assistant commissioner of Police) Bharuch, on Tuesday had stated that the girl is in critical condition and going under treatment at SSG hospital in Vadodara. A special team has been formed for the investigation, after which a charge sheet will be filed.
