Heatwave, unseasonal rain likely to hit Gujarat

Amid the heatwave in the state, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted unseasonal rainfall from Apr 13 to Apr 16 in some areas of Gujarat.
Parts of Surat, Navsari, and Valsad are likely to witness light rainfall on Apr 13, whereas Dahod, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, and Gir Somnath are likely to witness rainfall on Apr 15.
A total of 10 cities witnessed scorching heat on Apr 9 with mercury above 38°C.

The highest temperature prevailed in Rajkot at 42.1°C in Gujarat.
Ahmedabad touched 40.8 °C, 2°C more than the normal temperature. The met department forecasts a drop in temperature on Apr 14.
Moreover, discomfort conditions due to hot and humid air are likely to prevail over the coastal areas of Saurashtra during the next three days, as per IMD.
