Gujarat Technological University announces ₹160 cr budget for 2024-25

The government has sanctioned 33 new teaching and non-teaching posts for GTU and its affiliated colleges

In the Board of Management meeting of Gujarat Technological University (GTU), the ₹160 cr budget was approved for the year 2024–25 on Mar 3.

The new budget is ₹38 cr more than the previous year's budget due to new income.

The government has sanctioned 33 new teaching and non-teaching posts for GTU and its affiliated colleges. 

However, GTU had demanded more than 100 posts from the government.

GTU's expenditure in the years 2022-23 was more than ₹71 cr. An expenditure of ₹118.36 cr was estimated in the budget for 2023-24.

With ₹156.80 cr outlay, the GTU budget for 2024-25 is higher than the revised budget for 2023-24 of GTU, which was ₹122.63 cr.

The budget includes ₹44 cr for examination expenses, ₹36.69 cr for expenses including salary from government grants, and ₹36 cr for university activities and administrative expenses.

Notably, the Gujarat Technological University, a state university, has been affiliated with many engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges in Gujarat since 2007.
