Gujarat Minister takes tough action against hospitals: 2 suspended, 2 get show cause over PMJAY-MA violations

Gujarat Minister of State Praful Panseria has reportedly moved into zero tolerance mode after alleged irregularities were detected in hospitals empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – MA scheme.
As per official sources, the minister personally monitored the situation late at night and instructed the Health Secretary and department officials to take immediate action. Following surprise inspections, the state government has suspended two hospitals, while two others have been issued show-cause notices.
Hospitals suspended:
Deep Children Hospital & Neonatal Care, Godhra (Panchmahal)
– Expired medicines were found
– PICU/NICU standards not fulfilled
– MBBS doctor not present
– Scheme information kiosk missing
– Infection control norms not followed
Kashima Hospital, Bharuch
– PICU/NICU standards not met
– Infection control violations
– No scheme information kiosk
– Under-qualified nursing staff
– No medical officer present till afternoon
– Fire NOC and BU permission not available
Show-cause notices:
Maa Children & General Hospital, Kalol (Panchmahal) – No information kiosk for patients
Maa Children & Neonatal Care, Devgadh Baria (Dahod) – Expired medicines found, refusal to share CCTV footage, kiosk not installed
Minister Panseria stated that the state government is committed to ensuring quality and transparent treatment for poor and middle-class citizens under the PMJAY-MA scheme.
