In yet another episode of ‘drugs showing up at the shores of Gujarat’, 10 packets of unclaimed charas were seized by the authorities at Kodinar’s Chhara port in Gir Somnath district on July 5.

The children of fishermen living nearby noticed an unclaimed packet floating in the sea and informed their parents about it. The Special Operation Group (SOG) and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ibrahim Banva were informed and the staff reached the spot.

The Forensic Science Lab (FSL) revealed that it was 12.1 kg of charas worth over ₹6 crore.

Based on this, the SOG police registered a case against unknown persons.

Authorities have now recovered a whopping 242 such packets of drugs in 12 days last month from Gujarat’s shores.
