The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated an investigation after a young woman allegedly found a bone fragment in a serving of panipuri at a roadside vendor near the D-Mart outlet in Ranip area of Ahmedabad.

According to preliminary information, the woman had visited the vendor to eat panipuri when she allegedly discovered a bone-like object in the food item, triggering outrage and concern over hygiene standards at roadside eateries.

Following the allegation, civic authorities said a team has been sent to investigate the matter. A senior AMC official confirmed that an inquiry has been initiated and further investigation is under way.

Officials are expected to inspect the food stall, examine food preparation practices and verify the authenticity of the allegation as part of the probe.

No official complaint or laboratory confirmation regarding the suspected object had been reported at the time of filing this report. Further action is likely to be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
