AMC fines Ranip panipuri vendor ₹10,000 after woman alleged bone piece in the food

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on a panipuri vendor in Ranip following a social media complaint alleging unhygienic food conditions.
According to civic officials, action was taken against the food stall operating under the name 'Krishna Bhel Pakodi' near the GSRTC bus stop in Ranip area of Ahmedabad.
The move came after a complaint circulated on social media earlier on Friday regarding the quality and hygiene of food being served at the stall. AMC’s food department subsequently carried out an inspection at the location.
Officials said the vendor, identified as Dineshbhai Pyarelal Teli, was issued an e-challan under the AMC's Public Health By-laws, 2012, for allegedly distributing and selling food products in unhygienic conditions.
The challan, generated on May 16, 2026, recorded an administrative penalty of ₹10,000. The action was initiated by Senior Food Safety Officer Rajeshwar Prahladbhai Pavar, civic records showed.
