AMC Demolishes 22 Alleged Illegal Commercial Structures in Isanpur Drive

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday carried out a demolition drive in the Isanpur area, targeting allegedly illegal commercial structures and unauthorised constructions along a key road corridor.

Officials deployed JCB machines and demolition squads to remove encroachments and structures located on the stretch between Mukesh Patel Hospital and Pramukh Apartment towards Vishalnagar.

According to preliminary information, around 22 commercial properties were being demolished as part of the civic body's enforcement action against alleged unauthorised constructions.

The operation began in the morning amid police presence to maintain law and order and ensure the smooth execution of the demolition exercise. Civic officials said the action was undertaken as part of an ongoing drive to clear encroachments and remove structures found to be in violation of municipal regulations.

Visuals from the site showed earthmovers razing portions of shops and commercial establishments as authorities proceeded with the demolition.

Officials have not yet released a detailed statement regarding the extent of the encroachments, the total area cleared, or whether prior notices had been issued to the affected property owners.
