Ahmedabad Crime Branch cracks 1992 murder case after occult reports lead to body buried in well

In a startling breakthrough, the Detection of Crime Branch Ahmedabad has detected a 1992 murder case under highly unusual circumstances after information emerging from an occult consultation allegedly led investigators to human remains believed to be that of a man murdered over three decades ago and secretly buried inside a domestic well at the accused’s residence.
Police said the remains are currently being exhumed from a property near Qutumb Nagar Chowk in Vatva, where forensic teams and senior Crime Branch officers are overseeing the recovery operation.
According to investigators, the case came to light after members of the accused’s family allegedly began reporting recurring hallucinations and psychological distress, claiming they repeatedly saw the deceased and were haunted by his presence. Disturbed by the incidents, family members are said to have approached occult practitioners and spiritual healers in an effort to seek relief.
During the course of these consultations, crucial information reportedly surfaced suggesting that the deceased’s body had been concealed inside a well located within the family’s premises.
Treating the information as a potential intelligence input despite its unconventional source, the Crime Branch initiated a discreet verification exercise. Preliminary inquiry and technical assessment of the premises allegedly corroborated the possibility of human remains being buried within the structure.
Subsequently, police obtained the necessary permissions and launched an excavation and exhumation operation at the site.
Sources said skeletal remains suspected to be those of the missing victim have been recovered during the ongoing excavation, though official forensic confirmation is awaited.
Investigators believe the victim was murdered in 1992 and his body was clandestinely disposed of inside the well to destroy evidence and evade detection, allowing the alleged crime to remain buried for more than three decades.
Crime Branch officials described the development as one of the most unusual murder detections in recent years, noting that the case underscores the importance of examining all actionable intelligence inputs, irrespective of their origin.
“The information initially appeared unconventional, but certain details warranted verification. Upon inquiry, substantial leads emerged, which eventually led us to the site and the recovery of suspected human remains,” a senior officer said.
Police are now working to establish the identity of the deceased through forensic and DNA analysis and are re-examining missing person records and historical complaints from the period.
Investigators are also probing the exact motive behind the alleged murder and the involvement of all persons connected to the concealment of the body.
Further legal action will follow based on forensic findings and statements recorded during the investigation.
