In Gujarat, police action is taken against the agents who extort money from aspirants willing to go and settle abroad, However, even after police action, they do not get their lost money back.

In the 140 fraud complaints filed in the last three years, people have lost ₹41.88 crores, of which only ₹74 lakh have been recovered.

Many of these families lose their lifetime savings, hard-earned money, and at times, even the jewellery for their overseas dreams.

According to the official information from Gujarat’s home department, most complaints in the state come from Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Anand, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar.

Based on those complaints, the police have arrested 193 accused till now. However, 114 such agents remain uncaught.

Such agents cheat ordinary families by talking about settling abroad, studying abroad and giving jobs. People who have been enticed give the agents the money demanded.

However, when there is no response from the agents, they realise that they have been cheated.

In Gujarat, even the small cities are full of agents. Those who want to work abroad by entering illegally, fall into the trap of such agents and lose their capital.
