A substantial quantity of cocaine, estimated to be worth ₹120 crore in the international market, has been recovered from an abandoned location near Kharirohar village in Gandhidham, Kutch.

Sagar Bagmar, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Kutch, mentioned that the Gandhidham B Division police, acting on a tip-off, discovered 10 packets of cocaine abandoned beneath a banyan tree near a lake in Kharirohar.

The seized contraband weighed approximately 12 kg. Notably, the location of the seizure is merely a few kilometres from the sea, indicating its import from the sea route.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was also called in to conduct scientific examinations of the site.

Raising questions about the state government’s handling of the drug menace, President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Shaktisinh Gohil, took to social media, and stated, “Ten packets containing 12 kilograms of cocaine, worth ₹120 crore in the international market, have been recovered from Kutch district in Gujarat. Cocaine, which is ruining the youth, is being found every other day in Gujarat. The BJP government is not concerned. Has the BJP assumed power for such developments?”
