1.79 lakh students of class 10-12 to appear for board exam in 137 centres in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad city and rural district education officer (DEO) announced an action plan for the upcoming board exams for class 10 and 12, which will be held on March 11. A total of 1.79 lakh students will appear for the exams in 137 centres in 610 buildings across the district.

In Ahmedabad city, the board exams for class 10 and 12 will be conducted in 349 buildings in 70 exam centres in 12 zones, said the Ahmedabad DEO Rohit Choudhary. 

The number of students appearing for the exams has decreased by 12,000 this year.

Class 10 examinations will be held across 202 buildings allotted and class 12 in 103 buildings across the seven zones of the city.

A total of 1,01,352 students have been enrolled in the city, and all zonal officers have been appointed with instructions given at the centre for vigilance.

Ahmedabad rural centres

Ahmedabad rural DEO Krupa Jha said that there are 67 examination centres and 261 school buildings in the village in a total of eight zones. 

The examination will be conducted in 151 buildings in four zones in class 10, 79 buildings in four zones in class 12 (general stream), and 31 buildings in four zones in class 12 (science stream).

A total of 77,830 students will take the exam in rural areas, and zonal officers have been appointed in rural areas as well.

Security and safety

All centres will have CCTV cameras, and the exams will be held under 100% CCTV surveillance. A total of 60 squad teams will be deployed to monitor the exams across different centres.

In addition, first-aid kits will be sent to the centres to provide medical care to students in case of any injuries or health problems.

Even though it’s Sunday on Mar 10, the schools will be open to students checking their seating arrangements.

Specially-abled student

Habib Ashraf, a student of JC Shah Prakash School in the Relief Road area of Ahmedabad, has a physical disability. He had passed the class 10 board exams in the first attempt with a 65 percentile.

This year, he will be taking the board exams for class 12 (commerce) from the New Middle School centre with a writer.
