‘Saare jahan se achcha’ with panipuri at White House

Celebrating the Indian-origin Americans among others, the White House in the US of A hosted the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the President’s Advisory Commission for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI).

US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed the guests at the annual event, including the Indian-origin Americans.

On the occasion, Indian delicacies like panipuri, khoya-based sweets, and samosas were also served.

Moreover, the White House marine band also played ‘Saare Jahan se Achcha’ for the Indians.White House AANHPI Commissioner Ajay Jain was ‘thrilled’ by the experience.

Earlier, the song was played during the visit of India PM Narendra Modi in June 2023.

“Great to see Indian Americans being celebrated at White House today as part of AANHPI, a heritage month. such a pride feeling.The marine band was playing Saare Jahan se accha Hindustan Hamara song …&serving Golgappa. US India Relationship [sic],” tweeted Jain, reflecting on the event.
