In a viral post on X, a woman accused Canada’s well-known coffee chain for ‘only hiring Indians’ after losing her job.

According to the post shared by @Klaus_Arminiu, the Canadian woman observed that Indian managers at the coffee joint were hiring only Indians. After she confronted them, they allegedly fired her after 4 years of the job.

One user commented, “She should definitely make a complaint, there are laws against 1 hiring only from 1 ethnicity and 2 retaliation against employees.”

However, a user also commented, “Indian managers at Microsoft also do this!!!!”

“That’s called racial discrimination, it’s highly illegal and violates equal employment opportunity laws by favouring one race over another. You should get a good lawyer,” one user replied on the X thread.

On the contrary, a user commented, “The story is fake, it was created to generate traffic to a scam account.”

This comes after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s recent statement saying that it is not fair to Canadians struggling to find a good job, and it’s not fair to those temporary foreign workers, some of whom are being mistreated and exploited.

The Trudeau government has also axed the number of visas available to Canada, in an effort to reduce the inflow of immigrants.

Last month, the Canadian PM took to his X, “We’re granting 35% fewer international student permits this year. And next year, that number’s going down by another 10%.”
