Even without an Indian mobile number, the NRI would be able to complete the transactions through their international mobile number.The initiative was launched by ICICI Bank, enabling the NRI to generate a UPI ID through an international mobile number linked to their NRE/NRO bank account with ICICI and make their purchases from the bank’s iMobile Pay app.<h2 style="text-align: left;">Activate UPI on international number</h2><ol><li style="text-align: left;">Download ICICI Bank's iMobile Pay app</li><li style="text-align: left;">Login to iMobile Pay app</li><li style="text-align: left;">Click on ‘UPI Payments’</li><li style="text-align: left;">Verify the mobile number</li><li style="text-align: left;">Click on ‘Manage’ and then on ‘My Profile’</li><li style="text-align: left;">Create a new UPI ID (choose from the suggested options)</li><li style="text-align: left;">Select the account number and submit</li></ol><h2 style="text-align: left;">NRIs from these countries can avail benefits</h2>Currently, the bank has launched this facility for ten countries.NRIs residing in the USA, UK, UAE, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia can avail of it.NRIs residing in these countries will be able to transact in rupees through UPI.
