Last year, Indian-origin Swiss businessman Pankaj Oswal claimed that his daughter Vasundhara Oswal was imprisoned in Uganda. The industrialist claimed that his daughter was illegally imprisoned in Uganda over “corporate and political manipulation”.

Four months after her arrest, 26-year-old Vasundhara claimed that she was detained for five days and was denied basic facilities including water, food and a shower.

As per reports, Vasundhara Oswal was jailed in Uganda for the kidnapping and murder of her father’s former employee, Mukesh Menaria, who was later found alive.

Expressing her ordeal during the detention, Vasundhara said that her human rights were ‘grossly’ violated. She alleged that a male officer picked her up and threw her inside their van.

She also said that her parents had to bribe police officers through lawyers to get her food, water and other necessities.

Vasundhara, the executive director of Pro Industries, was reportedly kept in inhumane conditions during her 90+ hour custody.

“Not letting her be in touch with her family and lawyers and also snatching her phone from her, causing her to have an anxiety attack, which they did not acknowledge. This all while she is still being unlawfully detained with no evidence against her,” stated an Instagram post from her handle.
